Job Description

Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Management

Plan, coordinate, and manage daily delivery operations to ensure on-time and accurate deliveries.
Monitor and optimize routes for efficiency, cost savings, and timely service.
Oversee dispatching, scheduling, and real-time tracking of delivery drivers.
Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
2. Team Leadership

Supervise, train, and mentor a team of delivery drivers and dispatchers.
Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and implement disciplinary actions as needed.
Foster a positive and productive work environment.
3. Customer and Driver Support

Address and resolve customer complaints or delivery issues promptly.
Act as a liaison between drivers, customers, and internal teams.
Ensure drivers have the necessary tools, training, and support to perform their jobs effectively.
4. Performance Metrics and Reporting

Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery rates, fuel efficiency, and driver productivity.
Generate regular reports for senior management on operational performance and areas for improvement.
Implement strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.
5. Fleet and Resource Management

Coordinate vehicle maintenance, inspections, and repairs to ensure fleet readiness.
Manage relationships with vendors, including vehicle leasing, fuel providers, and maintenance services.
Oversee inventory of delivery equipment and supplies.
6. Compliance and Safety

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local transportation laws and regulations.
Promote and enforce safety protocols to minimize accidents and injuries.
Conduct regular safety training and audits.
7. Technology and Systems

Utilize fleet management software, GPS tracking, and route optimization tools.
Collaborate with IT to implement and improve operational technologies.
Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements.



Requirements:
Qualifications and Requirements
Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience in delivery operations, logistics, or fleet management.
Proven experience managing teams in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with DOT regulations and compliance requirements.
Skills and Competencies

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Proficiency in fleet management software, Excel, and data analysis tools.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Detail-oriented with a focus on process improvement.
Physical Requirements

Ability to occasionally travel to different locations or warehouses.
Capable of working flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with last-mile delivery operations.
Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS).
Experience working with independent contractors (1099 drivers).
Bilingual (Spanish/English or Portuguese/English) is a plus.

Work Environment

Office setting with frequent interaction with drivers, warehouse staff, and customers.
Occasional field visits to delivery sites or warehouses.
